New shoes Suggestions

I have only ever worn Footjoy AQL and Dryjoys golf shoes, i need to buy a new pair for the winter and have started thinking about a change etc

Must be 10.5 black waterproof and circa £50 / £70

Plenty of AQL around at bargain prices approx £45


Any good suggestions for a comfy pair ? or should i stick to the old trusty AQL again ?

For winter golf I don't think you can go wrong with the AQL although if you can find some dryjoys somewhere online then I'd go with them

Better the devil you know i guess as i have heard many moans about poor fitting golf shoes but never heard that with Footjoy

I like the FJ Sport but wouldnt say they would be a winter shoe as they have a cloth inner a opposed to a leather inner like AQL or Dryjoys.

Best shoes I've ever had for comfort, waterproof-ness (is that a word?) and build quality.

Great shoe and easy had for 70 notes I'd have thought

I wear FJ Contours in the winter, very comfy and as waterproof as anything else out there, never really been convinced there is such a thing as waterproof shoes though

you both must have missed the recent thread that had a few with numerous issues with FJ shoes. Since they were taken over the shoe quality hasn't been the same, possibly a new manufacturing operation? shame really as I swore by FJ for a long long time

Bought a pair a couple of weeks ago and they are superb. I've played in awful conditions and not a damp sock in sight.

Nike Lunar Prevail is a NO NO. Although they are exceptionally comfortable and light, they are like a sponge in the wet! I'm keeping them though and using them only in the summer dry days.

I have a pair of AQL's for the winter and they are excellent as always.

If I had the pennies I would go for the Ecco Biom which come across as the dogs danglie's.

I just bought some FJ Contours with the boa lace system. They were £80 so might be out of your price range.

Clubhouse Golf seem to have a few decent deals on shoes at the minute. Loads within your budget.
Quite fancy the Mizuno MP's in white. Classy!

Another Nike Lunar fan here, they are amazing and so comfy. They beat my Adidas ATV'S by a mile and where cheaper too.

The AQLs I won in a comp have been good winter servants for 3 years.

Wouldn't have considered them before, but if you get on with them, I'd say go for them.

Dryjoy (Tours) seem to have improved their quality/look markedly recently, so I think the 'new owners' statement is a red herring. And were they part of the deal?

I was in CHG yesterday and yes they do have a lot of deals on currently. 3 for 2 on most clothing lines and they stock a lot.
