Areet.

Ive just bought some Irons from AG. After some looking i decided to test a pre owned set of Cleveland CG7. And fell in love with them straight away.

The only issue I have is that i have a 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 & PW. So should i buy a 5 iron and a SW?

Im a real beginner when it comes to golf so any help would be appreciated.

Maybe get a SW but just see how you get on with out 5i for now.if your just starting out you probably wouldn't see much difference between a 5i & 6i. Or you could get a hybrid.

I have a 4 Hybrid but i cant hit it well at all.

I played 1 or 2 rounds last year and i played the 5i off the tee on 1 or 2 par 3's. But as you say i think i could easily adjust to using the 6i.

Do you have any reccomendations for a SW?

You can get brand new Cleveland sand wedges on Ebay for around £35-£40 and they're very good, also MD golf do very good wedges for around £30-35 on there, but you can find cheaper if you don't want to spend much

Cleveland don't do bad wedges! Look at the 588, cg15 or the slightly cavity backed cg16.

I would be looking for a 5 iron personally especially if you don't get on great with hybrids.

I would ditch the higher irons, replace with hybrids (adams are good) OR get some Cleveland altitude irons to replace them if you dont like hybrids.

Then put in some of Cleaveland's new cavity back RTX wedges.

IF I ever get a new set I think my 4 iron and 5 iron might be altitudes, going down through cavities to mid cavities in the high number irons and finally blades in the wedges.

Mixed cavity/playability sets are the future with Cleveland leading the way!
