It's here! I've played a few winter medals but Saturday sees the first official comp of the new season! Just a texas scramble but still, it's the start!

Just as well reading some of the threads on here, fortunately we'll soon have golf to chat about again....

When do the rest of you get back into action?

:one:

Our season kicks off in earnest on 26/3, back on the white tees, no preferred lies and the first qualifying medal of the year.

cant wait.......

We have to wait until Saturday 19th just to get back to eighteen holes. First board comp isn't until two weeks later after the captains drive in.

I need to join somewhere! Was due to play a round with the captain tomorrow but we've postponed because of more rain due

My season could be over
managed to detach my chest muscle tendon
more tests will decide severity and possible surgery

First real comp of the season this coming Saturday with our Burns Shield stableford. Nervous anticipation of playing with card in hand again has kicked in. Can't wait.

We've had a few comps this year. We have our first honours board event over Easter which is usually seen as the starting point of the season. Bring it on

I am confused. Please could some explain what a board comp is. Now we have an honours board event???

Are these any different to a club medal?

These are events where the winner goes up on the honours board. Only a set number per year and various formats. This is a stableford, where players can submit two cards over any four days of the Easter break. Best score wins and name in gold letters

Are there no handicap counting competitions over the winter at NB?

Winter League doesn't finish until the end of the month so there will be no midweek comps until April..
Not sure if the dates have been published yet...

So, a board comp is one where you get your name written on a board if you win?

For the two scores over four days comp, keep a close eye on the weather to heighten your chance of winning.

Basically and yes, most golfers will play on the best days unless under orders from him/her indoors. Does tend to make the course a bit busy early doors

Season starting? Wraparound season at ours. Medals continue as normal during the winter!
