• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

New season, hows your game looking?

If you go to "Analyze Scorecards" then the tab that (probably) says "Stats For Phil (18)" then "Scrambling", it gives you a more accurate figure by ignoring holes where you didn't have the chance to scramble a par with a putt.

Wow! - a 5% improvement in my scrambling in just a couple of hours! :D :D

It doesn't say "Stats for Phil (18)" though - can't tell you what it does say, Smiffy might be reading!

Fairly happy with my game at the moment.

Been scoring really consistently with last 6 or 7 rounds all between 81-84 so means I'm playing well but still room for improvement.

This is the first time in about 15 years I've played regularly for a prolonged period of time and that certainly helps, especially around the greens.

Really looking forward to the next few months golf.

I'd like to say all the pieces are in place following the winter's work but sadly I'd be lying. In patches I can play four or five holes in par and then have a meltdown. The short game has disintergrated and it is all in the head now. I'm so confused about what I should or shouldn't be doing I can't stand over a shot and play it. Chipping yips are imminent.

That aside there is some very good ball striking now and I'm definitely compressing down more and turning with the hips leading and level rather than sliding as I was doing before the lessons this winter. A definite work in progress and a game more akin for matchplay at the moment where I can take the odd hole out (providing my wingman is backing me up) but suddenly put two or three great holes together. This dog has at least one more day in him and who knows when it will happen

The other one I really like from that page is if you click on "Fairways", it tells you how often you hit GIR when you hit and miss the fairway off the tee.

Wherediditgo.

Bloody hell mate you should be happy with your driving statistic 73% would put you 7th on the PGA Tour along with David Toms. Heath Slocum is 3rd with 73.7 but the leader is Brian Gay with 77.8.

As for your putting 32 putts equate to 1.777 which again would put you in the top 100 on the PGA. 97th actually along with Charles Howell III. The leader not surprisingly is Brad Faxon with 1.654 or 29.77 per round.
A few behind you include Boo Weekley, Andreas Romero, Nick O'hern, KJ Choi and Ryuji Imada.

Actually things have started ok, not entered any competitions yet but (touch wood) it looks like I've got rid of the slice. Was out for 11 holes yesterday & had 29 points though that was off the yellow tees so maybe not a true reflection but encouraging.
