Despite my one wonder round PB of 74 in our club champs 2nd round my golf this year has been all over the place especially my putting, which has been like a blind orang-utan swinging a rattle snake at a coconut.

Today with the wind blowing and fairways having been narrowed it all finally clicked in, long game was spot on hitting 12 out of 14 fairways, 13GIR, and not a 3 putt in sight for once. The putting I'm attributing to the belly putter finally being put in the bag after months of playing around the putting green with it but not being brave enough to take on course.

Managed to birdie the 18th hole for a new PB 73 nett 64. Giving me lowest gross and lowest nett score over the 2 days of the midweek medal, which gets me into the clubs medal winner cup at the start of October. Today was the last qualifying round and I'd been well short till now.

Add to all of that and due to conditions my nett score over the 2 days is the only one to be sub 70, so if I've calculated CSS correctly should get me a cut of about 1.4 (I hope) and down to 7.7.

What a difference a day makes, oh and a belly butter. The cheat stick is officially staying in the bag now.

Well played and congrats on the new PB. I'm more impressed, however, that you've already calculated CSS. How did you do that?

Its just a rough estimate based on fact we were penultimate group out for the comp and based on the comp scores posted on the psi board in clubhouse. Of course though the css may well be different but as i say from scores ive seen i think css will be around 70 which should hopefully be at least a 1.2 reduction maybe 1.4 if it moves to level par 71.

Hell i could be well out from what ive seen but im happy in the comfort i know ive won as the 3ball behind us all nr'd and walked in after 9 as they'd had enough of the wind.
