New F1 season starts this weekend.....

I'm gutted that the BBC have cut back on their coverage of F1. They did a great job the past few years and had built a great team. It's another sport lost to Sky, where you have to pay quite a lot of money and still have to watch adverts!

No adverts during F1 races on Sky, not that I'm overly fussed by F1, but the point has to be made.

Super race... Brundle as good as ever in commentary... Still got to make my mind up about Croft... I had, believe it or not begun to warm to "the thosser" [you needed to have watched They think its all Over]...

Yes, I did get up and watch it live...

I'm not paying those robbing bastards at Sky anything.

+1
And never will, ever. For me they've ruined a lot of sport with too much money and ruined much more by creating tiers within sport that damage the sport itself, football being the biggest case in point, even top clubs are so on a knife edge financially that none seem safe. And where's the interest when only a small handful have any chance of winning the major titles?
They might give better coverage with HD, 3D and assorted gimmicks but at the end of the day it's the drama the sport itself that makes compulsive viewing, not seeing something from twenty different angles or hearing a bunch of "experts" disecting something to the nth degree.

Brundle's commentary has got gears: he can be relaxed, a bit excited, quite excited or very excited.

Ted Kravitz is also very easy on the ears and knowledgable.

Croft's commentary has one speed setting: Nuclear. Spoiled the race a bit with his constant state of excitement. If he can learn to calm the f**k down a bit he might be alright.

A decent race around a beautiful city.

I watched the BBC "highlights". Why don't I like that Jake Humphrey? Something about him that makes me want to punch his lights out, I think it's called "smug".
Also, Eddie Jordan is a prat. David Coulthard is OK though. I like him. Which is strange, because he's a jock.
