Really?A assumption that if you wear training shoes in everyday life also means you wear track suits is now a slander on the city of Liverpool?

Are you two being serious? You interpret that as me slagging off trainers on the whole and not specifically when not doing some kind of sport?

You both need to calm down.

You were the one bringing up track suits and are you going to suggest it's nothing to do with Liverpool ? Especially when I said I don't wear track suits - I believe the reply "yeah sure" !!

I do believe you also you carried is on when Liverbirdie made a post also .

I could only imagine your uproar if someone suggested anything stereotypical about Scottish people !

Yes - when you are a grown-up, you should probably wear shoes when mixing with the general public. Some choose not to and that is their prerogative but perceived wisdom is that a jeans and trainers combo is something of a faux pas. Sports shoes are for sporting activities. That is what they are designed for.

On a related note, if you have any three-quarter length trousers / shorts that are not made of tweed then perhaps incinerate them at your earliest convenience too.

What about trainers that aren't designed for sporting activity ?

The arrogance of some posters on this thread knows no bounds as usual, highly judgemental and wrong if it doesnt agree with your own perspective of what is correct or stylish, not to mention some hideous stereotyping. Hey ho, I guess its fishing, or because of the date why not hide behind it being an april fool. Alternatively you could accept that different people have different perspectives and that yours isnt necessarily right for everyone

Either that or it could just be relatively light hearted "banter" to use the colloquial football parlance of our times??

Still, don't let that stop you climbing onto the moral high ground. By the way, is that you in your avatar picture?

If you think that any kind of Scottish stereotyping you could produce would either shock me or be inventive you would be incorrect.Like every living Scottish person we've heard them all, laughed at some, pitied some more and been confused by the rest.

Imagine away as I really couldn't give a monkeys, and continue to be offended by something imaginary.

I refuse to believe that those who wear trainers for everyday wear also don't own a tracksuit and not use it for sporting activities.

This must be the way to go surely

You do realise that there are trainers for more than just sporting activities

It's quite simple really,just don't buy it.
My England 86 shirt will be coming out for the World Cup.
the sky one worn by graham rix who couldnt stop maradona from scoring ???

btw nothing wrong with wearing football shirts on the football ground or watching in public

I realise they've been appropriated by folk,yes.

No they have manufactured as fashion trainers.

Even your "camper" company do casual trainer for everyday wear

What sporting activity could you do in these ?

Totally agree. These Liverpool guys need to put things into perspective.
The perspective we have is we don't mind too much original and funny missives, but tired, crap or 20 year old put downs are offensive. Think up some new ones and we may even laugh along as we did at West ham fans who had a new one a few years ago, 40,00 at Anfield laughed along. Even when Man U first sang "feed the scousers", most of us had a rye smile. Calm down, hubcaps etc are rubbish and have been done to death now. Go on give us a new one......better still, come up to Liverpool and see if the stereotypes are true, better again try your new jokes out on us.

If you think the phrase 'fashion trainers' is acceptable,I'm kinda happy we have different clothing ideas.

That's the phrase attached to those type of footwear

Do you believe they are trainers

Yes we do have different clothing ideas

The difference is I'm not making judgements about people based on that

Lines like "refuse to believe that people who wear trainers don't also own track suits and wear them for non sport activities" - it appears your arrogance know no bounds

I could not think of a single activity I would do in these let alone a sporting one :p unless it is one where no one else will see them like bog snorkling or a similar affair.....

Seriously, my 14 year old daughter wears these.

Seriously, my 14 year old daughter wears these.

I expect she wears the ladies ones and glad she has a bit of taste. My future wife also has a pair , as does my best man plus a few of my other friends. Would you like to make any judgements about them based on their choice of footwear

I wear the male version - nice and comfy , also have a pair of Adidas casuals and a pair of K Swiss - none of them are for any sporting activity.

I do have a pair of asics for the gym.
