Wow just fell out with this club massively!!! Can't get it away properly off the tee and struggling off the deck! Slice hooks tops pushes blocks pulls I had the lot off the tee and just about hit it off the deck... Almost regret buying it!
My 20*hyrbid which I brought the same day is only about 10yrds shorter off the deck but with a longer carry and I hit it alot more constant almost good connection everytime.
Very tempted to sack it off and get a g15 3wood or lower lofted hybrid...
Left driver at home today with sole intention of hitting the 3wood for practice, when I get it going good it's a gem but just lost all confidence in it now. Got a round Monday so will test her again then should persevere as mrs will go mental if I buy another club as that was a slight impulse buy and I said I was fully sorted for clubs now haha

if your swing is as confused as your post I'm not really surprised that you have a degree of variation in the outcome of it.....(with the 3 wood or anything else)

Everything else was going fine think I got to that point of red mist and jus wacking it haha... Last and first shot with it was great lol..
Don't get me wrong I did hit some nice ones but it was so indifferent, ended up gripping down in the end was also trying different tee heights which probably didn't help matters

The Burner is a doddle to hit mate you shouldn't be struggling like that. I did warn you about the shafts length though.Lower lofted Hybrids than you have can be very hard to hit so I would not rush into one of those if I were you. I have a G15 5 wood and it is no easier to hit than my Burner 3 wood, where is the ball in your stance with the 3 wood?

Forward but not as much as my driver. Was really concentrating on coming from the inside off the tee to stop a slice but possibly by thinking to much about this I lost my general swing plain... That's was an angry post looking back I did hit some nice ones but just got angry at one point so kept belting them off the tee as no one else around...
Hopefully Monday all will be well again and I'll put today down as a blip haha

I try to play a 3 wood opposite my left breast play it too far forward in the stance and that is a surefire way of topping it. Yeah swing thought are never the best option on the course that is what the range is for. Stick with the club it is a good one trust me.

Could be leaving the Driver at home was the cause. Means you feel, even sub-consciously, that you have to hit the 3-wood harder - to get the same distance as the driver. You don't!

Go to your (excellent) range with a bucket/bag of balls and just hit the 3-wood, off a low tee, with easy swings. Then try it 'teed up' in some semi-rough. It's all about tempo! And off the deck it's even more about tempo as the club will do all the work. I reckon, because of all the rain, the ground's pretty unhelpful to a 3-wood off 'tight' fairways at the moment anyway.

Good Luck

I'll go range Sunday afternoon if I don't feel to rough and have a tinker with ball position etc. strip right back to basics and slow it all down. Pro is on holiday at the min so if all else fails I'll go and see him an see what's going on as you can't go from hitting a club nice to a total duffer in 5days.
Does fly nice when it goes though. Yeah I was thinking things like sweep it off the tee, seing inside etc in the end instead of just playing like normal

try a more vertical swing, hitting down on the ball rather than trying to push it forward . it worked for me [ 15 handicap also ] when i had same problem. best of luck.

Have your feet shoulder width apart. position the ball 2-3 inches inside your front foot. Swing nice and smooth, dont force it and sweep it away. Trust the loft of the club, to do its job.

Sounds like you were simply trying too hard, swinging too fast and chucking loads of new and different moves into the mix for good measure. If you can hit hybrids and longer irons you should be able to hit the 3 wood too. Relax, wipe the slate clean and start again with it. Find a position that works for you and then just make a smooth easy swing

The trouble with tinkering with kit is it's easy to get all negative about a particular club.
Put the club away, take it to practice in a few weeks and see if the problems are still there.

A few months ago, I could only hit hybrids and was all over the place with fairways. At the moment, it's the opposite. Once you are negative about a club, you'll tense up and mess up your timing even if everything else is spot on (ball position etc.).

I have 2 drivers, 2 x 5 woods, 3 hybrids. I just rotate them when I'm not happy. A change is as good as a rest and all that.

I call that 'the naughty step'!

Used to have one of those with putters, but couldn't climb over them to get up the stairs, so sold the wayward ones - and a couple of the not so wayward ones too!
