Never thought I'd say this - Hybrids are ace

Hmmm, this has made me ask myself a question.......

Do I want to be hitting lovely 2 & 3irons and signing for an 80......or......chopping it round with a hybrid for a 70????

Such a difficult one.....

One of the only things you have ever typed that I've agreed with. Track an session in order to confirm my distances then hybrid shopping could be on the cards

Further to my original post, took it out for it's first test drive on the course today and couldn't believe the results.

Didn't hit a bad shot with it and it went a long way to helping me par holes I'd never par'd before. Difficult conditions too, it was cold and the course was wet and marshy pretty much the whole round.

Hit the best 3 wood shot I've ever hit too.

Not a bad day at all.

Hybrids 4 life!

One thing I still do not understand though is peoples attitude towards using a hybrid. It is like some kind of dent on their manhood......

People think that they are clubs for people who can't hit a long iron. Trying telling the likes of Donald etc about that one. I agree when they first got designed it was aimed at people who struggle to hit long irons with consistency, but now they make them aimed at the better player as well as the higher handicapped player.

Anything that can make this difficult game easier is alright in my book

OK then lets look at it another way then. 8th hole at my course Par 5 510 from the yellow tees, elevated green that you can't run one up onto unless you thin one. Any wind on that hole is always into your face. Driver and a 16 degree rescue and I can hit the green. So either I hit the ball over 300 yards with the driver. Or I can hit a rescue around 240 from the deck. I know I do not hit a driver over 300 yards.

Cheers Imurg at least someone looks into something before trying to make a comment that you can't hit a rescue as far a the same lofted fairway.

Why is it always the same on here. If you dare to say you hit it further than the normal golfer then they must be talking out of their arse. A 150 shot is a smooth 9 iron for me. I am not saying I am the best golfer on here, to be honest I am not a great golfer but a good hitter of golf balls.[/QUOTE

you still not said what 16 degree your hitting

i would highly recommend an Adams Hybrid got a 3 19 degree, stiff shaft its quality i also have a diablo 4 steel shaft which is easy to hit and a more traditional ben hogan 5 hybrid steel shaft. They have improved my game big style went from hcap 20.2 to 14.9 have gained a lot of confidence using them

I would like to see someone hit a 3 iron from some of the lies I have had recently. The longest iron I can get out is an 8 iron, but I can get 180 out of a 3 hybrid. They are just more versatile than an iron. That said, I can't see the need for more than one of them.

Been down the range this afternoon. Hit some good and some bad shots, but gave my new JPX 2H a good go and it quickly became apparent (once I'd stopped topping it :D) that this thing might be the best 79 quid I have ever spent. Goes like you wouldn't believe and so effortless to hit. Tried some punchy shots with it too, which went as far as the full shots .

Lovely. I never want to see a bladed 2 iron or talk about it again. (maybe :D)

Shot my second best round last year using my hybrid as a putter (left putter in the car boot when runnning late, numpty!!), 28 putts all up, whats not to like!!

Mines a TM rescue.

I had one of these in steel shafted, it did go a bloody mile but i could be a bit wild with it.

Imagine what it was like with the slightly longer graphite shaft. I love it though and have never hit anything like I can hit my 16 and 19 degree ones... I can hit the target with consistent accuracy with them. I can shape them right shape them left hit it high punch it low, I even use it round the green for chipping....the only thing I can't do with them is hit it bloody straight.......
