Been down the range this afternoon. Hit some good and some bad shots, but gave my new JPX 2H a good go and it quickly became apparent (once I'd stopped topping it :D) that this thing might be the best 79 quid I have ever spent. Goes like you wouldn't believe and so effortless to hit. Tried some punchy shots with it too, which went as far as the full shots .

Lovely. I never want to see a bladed 2 iron or talk about it again. (maybe :D)

Agreed. I've got a 17 degree Mizuno MX700 and it's one of my favourite clubs in the bag. Great off the tee on long Par 3's or short Par 4's and easy to hit off the fairway or out of the semi-rough too. :D

You 2 guys have just made my mind up,I was in two minds about which hybrid to get,Iv'e had the
burner hybrids since 2008 and fancied a change, the thing is,I have the mx700 driver and 3 wood
already, so Im gonna buy the jpx's tomorrow, tft

Would look at the MP CLK first. I have this in the 17* and it is a great club (and shaft too).

Mizuno do seem to do quite well with the old hybrids, I'm trying to get a 3 wood and (maybe) driver of the MP range with the same shaft.....

Good man. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. :)

....... And finally it seems the breeze of insanity has blown through his head

Personally I don't like hybrids.

Saying that I have the Mizzy Fli-Hi 2 & 3 irons and find them excellent. Not sure they class as a hybrid but definitely not a traditional long iron.

Funny you should mention new Mizzy clubs. The wifes ordered me an MP Titanium 5 wood which I should hopefully get Wednesday.

I've now got 2. The rapture 17 degree I got 3-4 months ago goes just as far as the 5 wood it replaced & is better off the deck. I was looking for a 3 iron as my set hasn't got one but I picked up a new Cleveland mashie for £69. Only hit it on the range but it goes pretty well.

Is there really still an anti hybrid movement ??

The JPX range is superb. I have the 3 iron hybrid and after a couple of rounds it was being used ahead of my old go to club, a Ping G10 hybrid. Started with the JPX 800 driver, added the hybrid a month or so ago and added the 3 wood yesterday (bargain at £79 in DG). At this rate I can see an all Mizuno bag before the end of 2012.

Hybrids are amazing. Used them since TM first brought out the rescue dual about 6 years ago. Still carrying the same 16 and 19 degree model. Will always carry them now.......unless someone else comes up a club i can smash 240 yards off the deck........

Ive changed to Mizuno gradually, always like their irons, had mx17s changed to the mx300s about this time last
year.then changed the driver and fairway (from TM ) MX700 and hit them better straight away,my wedges are
mpr 52 56 58 that just leaves me with Yes Callie putter, cant wait to get them dogs tomorrow..excuse any
spelling mistakes cos the teacher had HUGE YOU KNOWWHATS and we never heard a word she said.

I have got G5 hybrids, 16 and 19 degree, and would quite happily add a 22 degree if I could find one with the same shaft. Did have a G10 hybrid but was not so keen on the shape. Do like the look of the Titleist 910 hybrids, and they would match my driver and 3 wood, but a bit pricey for me.

Ya big woos.

This is what you need

or as your getting older

Why make the game harder? I struggle to hit a 3 iron and so it fills that gap between my 5 wood (approx 200 yards) and my 4 iron (170). As we have a few par 3's at the 180+ mark it is the ideal club. I can use it in light rough where I'd never dream of trying to hit a 3 or 4 iron and can even use it around the green.

I've had hybrids for about 6-7 years now. Wouldn't be without at least one.

Glad you're getting on well with the JPX, JonBoy.
I've thought about Mizzy hybrids in the past but the MX, the new MP and the JPX have this kind of hollowed out bit at the back of the head and a really large silver strip on the crown - just doesn't suit my eye.
Still - if it works, don't knock it.
