Nedbank Golf Challenge

Seeing as I am not used to talking to turnips, could you tell me what part you disagree with? Are the best men golfers not better than the best women golfers?

If you bought a new car off a car dealer on the phone, went to collect it to only to find it was sitting beside a car that was the same model, but it had a bigger engine, built in Sat Nav and leather seats, and then found out the car dealer was selling it to someone else for exactly the same price as you are buying your inferior car, would you be happy or would you be aggrieved? I pay for Sky, I expect to see the best play the game, not the best women play the game.

Don't know where you going with that analogy, hilarious it may be ......but Sky Sports shows sports of ALL levels.

Why ain't you watching Tiger's event, if you wanna watch the best of the best?

To be honest, I do not enjoy either, because I know I can be watching people play the game to a higher standard elsewhere.
You have moved the goal posts, as you earlier said for you and for the majority of viewers men's golf should always be shown before women's. You didn't mention the quality of players. When the Solheim Cup was being played, I think a good percentage of golfers preferred watching that event, to whatever men's event was being played at the same time.

The point of the parable is to prove that if you pay your money, you expect the best, if this gentleman has the same attitude to everything as he does in thinking that gals are just as good as the fellas, he would happily drive his crappy little car out of the showroom like a dundernut. If parables are good enough for the Good Lord, they are good enough for this Forumer.

Sky Go, split screen,

Hey, let's start another argument that keeps going around in circles until everyone with an IQ that is higher than their age begrudgingly admits that I am right .

TW=GOAT.

Now you are just being silly, one biannual event doesn't detract from "always", stop being so pedantic, you presumptuous little upstart. I'm sure if there was a good PGA tour event on that weekend that Tiger, Phil, Rory et al. were playing in, it would get the majority of viewers.

TW=GOAT...........No debate! :cool:

But Sky doesn't show the best sports people every single second of broadcast, so I don't know why you expected them to.

And no dealership is going to sell you a higher end model the same price as the inferior motor you have chosen. Unless its 2nd hand and a couple years old.

If Sky have the rights to show both a Man City match and a Championship match that are played at the same time, which is going to be shown on the red button? The car story is not to be taken literally.

It's 1 weekend out of the year! Is it really worth getting your knickers in a twist over it?

Most of the 1st round of the Nedbank was cancelled due to lightning so I'm glad the women's golf was on, I'd rather watch that some re run of a men's tournament earlier in the year.

I'm not sure if you're trolling for a laugh hence why you are being so ignorant or you are actually serious and are that uneducated you can't see what it is you are saying.

I'll repeat it again for you

To say that men's golf should always take precedence of ladies golf on telly is sexist - it's as simple as that. I'm not talking about who is better at the game - I'm talking about equality in the world and no sex should precedent over another because we live in a tolerant world where we are supposed to be treated equally.

You pay for Sky and they gave you the choice off what golf tournament to watch. You didn't have to watch the Ladies event.

Your attitude is that of a caveman - you need dragged up to the modern world.

I'm guessing you're just some spotty chav because I would struggle to understand how a grown man could have an attitude like yours in this day and age.

WOW How to make friends and influence people! I bet Richart (locally known as Highlander) hasn't been called an upstart for many a decade!

I don't see what the problem is, there are 2 professional golf tournaments on at the same time and both can be viewed using your Sky remote control, it's not like they're taping the Nedbank with the intention of not showing it until Monday. Personally I'd be flicking between the 2 or if I felt really clever have the Nedbank on TV and the ladies on the Ipad (because I don't think I can access the red button on Ipad).

I was wondering why the nedbank had 5 pages on the forum... just had a read and its clear now

and for what its worth there's nothing wrong with SD (referring to Standard Definition not Simon Dyson....although nothing wrong with Simon Dyson either :) )

Great thread.. Loving it...:)

My tuppence worth:

For me, the best golf is the one that is exciting, with players pushing each other to higher levels of performance. Like the Solheim Cup for example. I'm not bothered if its Men, Women, Kids, Amateurs... As long as it's exciting...

You still haven't said whether you agree that the best men are far better golfers than the best women, probably because you know that this is true and that would undermine your argument. I have nothing against women golfers, just like I have nothing but admiration for blind golfers, golfers with prosthetic limbs and other disabilities, live and let live and all that. But when I watch golf on television, I like to see people playing to the very highest standard in the World, if that was the women, then I would say that they should get premier billing, but that is not the case.

I suppose if you owned a shop and were looking to employ a security guard, you wouldn't give it to the 19 stone, skinhead former rugby player, you'd give the job to an 5 foot 2, 8 and half stone woman because you are all about equality, even though the man is clearly better suited to the job.

I am not God, I did not create the human body, I did not make men naturally stronger than women, but I am capable of rational thought.

Because I pay £49 a month for Sky, I expect to be able to pause, record and rewind the Nedbank at my own pleasure, but unfortunately this is not the case.

I feel I have debated my points rather eloquently, far more so than yourself, and I am far from a "spotty chav"

You really do miss the whole point of equality don't you

No one and I repeat no one has said that ladies are better than men - no one. There isn't one single person on this thread that has suggested that women are better golfers than men

What you initially said is "Men should take precedent over ladies " - that is sexist ok - it's as simple as that. You can dribble on all day about who is better etc but that doesn't mean that one sex should take precedence over another.

Now sky is clever - they allow you to pick which tournament you can watch - but you "expect" the men to be on the main channel because you believe they should have precedence over the ladies - that view is sexist and it also suggest that you need to adjust both your attitude and your expectations.

And if your not some ignorant uneducated chav then you are a very good internet troll.

Nearly spilled my Ribena when I read the upstart remark. Always adds to a discussion when you can bring in name calling.

You STILL haven't admitted that pro men are better golfers than pro women. I think that it is incredibly immature of you to dance around the most crucial point in this argument. To be honest, I am happy enough to let you live in your little fairy tale world were everyone is created equally and no one has any genetic advantages over anyone else.

Do you feel that the level of quality shown by the competitors should have no effect on what makes it on the box? I don't complain that Sky won't put me singing "Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin in the shower on TV in favour of people who are naturally far better at singing than me.
