Three things are bugging me about this tournament:-

1. Why is it playing second fiddle to the womens tournament on Sky? I know there are going to be members of the PC brigade jumping all over this saying that "they are just as good as the men", but this is clearly not true.

2. The starter is so amateurish that it's funny how rubbish he is.

3. Does anyone else think that it's ridiculous that literally any time it starts raining during a round on any of the Professional tours they stop playing due to "inclement weather"?

1) Agree. It's also horrible watching golf in standard definition :(

2) You might want to research who that starter is. SA golfing legend Dale Hayes.

3) Isn't it due to lightning? All the best if you want to stay out in that, I'm sure Retief Gooseneck would be living it!!

The ladies comp is one of the biggest on the LET - the Nedbank is virtually a select invitational. Rather see a proper tournament as opposed to season ending thrash.

But the Nedbank is now an offical event on the European tour with a few of the biggest names playing. And the field has been increase to 30 this year.

Then they are showing re runs of the Solhiem Cup on Sky Sports 1 most of the afternoon, why?

Couldn't they show the women's golf on one channel then the Nedbank on the other instead of showing a re run of a tournament.

30 ? Wow - still a selective field of players.

The LET Event is one of the biggest outside the majors.

Think it's good to see someone Ladies golf live for a change.

It's ladies in sport day or something like that with re runs of the tennis and cricket also

Totally agree with you. After the Solheim Cup there were all sorts of cries of why is Women's Golf not more popular, not on TV more, not featured in magazines etc and this pretty much sums it up. People would rather see a nothing mens tournament than a high end womens one. If Womens golf is to grow then it needs to be on TV more so this is a step in the right direction.

Just like how I would rather watch Formula 1 than Formula 3, men's golf should always take precedence over woman's golf when both are running concurrently. As for the Nedbank being a "nothing event", the field is made up by accomplished golfers who, as elite competitors, are not turning up to this event for a laugh and to meet up with their mates from the tour.

That's a post full of nothing but sexism !

Why exactly should men's golf always take precedent !!

The Dubai Masters is one of the biggest comps on the ladies tour with a field full of the top players in the world - the elite in their sport

The Nedbank is primarily an invitational event

It's not sexist to say I'd rather watch the Nedbank is it?

I've as much interest in the Dubai gig as the 6 locals who have gone to watch it.

It will be quiet today as most are working - will be busy tomorrow.

You have the choice to watch either.

Do you think that elite female golfers are better or equal golfers than elite male golfers? if you do, then you are a complete idiot. If woman's golf should be on tv instead of mens golf despite there inferior level of play, shouldn't disabled golf be shown live on Sky as well? I have no problem with the LPGA or the LET being on tv, I respect that Lydia Ko et al are great golfers, but they are not as good as the men.

The LET field doesnt really scream big names tho does it. Yeah Stacey Lewis, Charley Hull and a few others but not much to grab attention.

The Nedbank on the other hand has 19 of the worlds top 50, 5 of which are in the top 20. Thats why people would rather watch the Nedbank compaired to the LET.

But again it still doesn't mean that a men's tourney should always take precedence over a ladies tourney

Happy to watch the let this week as vicky laing is near the top of the leader board and i played a round with her last year:thup:
