Cheers for the kind words but its bloody awful in that video.
I overswing
Right arm flies away from body
Right knee loses tension
I stay back on the swing and dont transfer my weight
I flick at the ball
I will have to post a video of "the new swing". After my game with Smiffy on Sunday where I played well below what im capable of I have really put in the hours this week.
Going to Mintys charity day tomorrow for some fun, must remember whatever I do DO NOT THINK ABOUT MY SWING!
The other thing you should worry about is that midway through your swing, you suffer equipment malfunction in a breach of the dress code, ie: having shirts tucked in. This is vitally important, as it provides core stability (way more improtant than doing swiss ball stuff).
I actually think your swing as posted is less structured than previously. A bit loose and untidy. Better than mine, still, but not as good as it was last time I saw it.
I know it does mate, I stopped having lessons for a few months in an attempt to let my own swing develop instead of what my coach wanted. I thought this would be an idea but I think I went too long on my own.
Now trying to slow it all down and stop flicking at the ball. My ball flight got ridiculous, I was hitting it way too high.
Have the choice this month of getting an electric trolley or a course of lessons.
My only comment is to film the swing at waist height, arange the camera lens pointed down the line equadistant between the clubhead & the body it'll help the pro get a better idea of what is going on.
I'll leave comments about the swing to the resident Pro's
It would be great if you could provide me with a little bit of info about your whole game. I posted some questions on a previous page.
The one thing that I would comment on about your swing is the seperation of your elbows as you move the club to the top of the backswing
Halfway back you will notice that there is a bigger gap between your elbows than there would have been at address.
This will cause your hands and arms to work independantly of your body during your swing. Not only that you will struggle to keep the club on line without some manipulation later on in the swing.
I like to see in my pupils have connection and rotation throughout the swing. This will improve your ball striking, distance control and direction.
Try this
Place a small sized headcover under each armpit and hit some short medium irons. The golf swing will feel very wooden and tight, but if you video it you will notice the connection and rotation will have improved.
