my longest ever drive 395 yards

Can't believe you've posted this. The way this forum works with "i'm a long hitter" you might as well have posted " my penis is bigger than yours"

It is, that's what he measured it with

I hit my longest drive ever when I played with Rob (Full_Throttle) on Wednesday on the 10th at Staverton Park. Came in at 285 taken from my G5 with a slight wind behind, big down hill run on the fairway but straight as an arrow with a little bit of draw. In fact, I hit a few around 240 without the hill and wind so my 3w (13 degrees) was behaving its self, unlike at Pyrford yesterday at times :(

A 285 yard drive is a good drive for anyone. 395 yard is just huge and without trying to offend you is slightly unbelievable for someone off your handicap, unless the ball has assistance such as wind, elevated Tee, catching a down slope, or hitting a fairway marker. Pro's with perfect conditions, huge swing and ball speeds vary rarely actually hit the ball that far.

My longest ever drive was 343yards on Aldersey greens 9th hole which is a par 5, Cookelad was with me that day and can verify that. It was a nice hot day, firm fairways, down wind but not a gale, ball pitched in the back of a ride in the fairway and just kept running. I did hit the ball a long way all day though, but I was happier with the fact I missed 1 fairway all day and that's because I went through the green on a short par 4 6th.

My average drive throughout my main playing life is around 240 yards.
I have on occasions driven a ball over 400 yards when conditions are helpful.
I think you will find that their are many thousands of golfers like me, so 395 yards is nothing special.

Oh the 400 yard + drives were with a wound ball and a small persimmon driver.

I think the best drive I have hit on a few occasions is about 290 yards. Slight wind behind. The 17th green at Carrick Knowe is a great hole, par 4 but you can drive the green. My natural shot is a left to right movement. If i catch them straight on this hole they go thru the back. Just wish I could do that every time :(

Played in our monthly medal today, front nine was a waste of time, but on the back nine I hit a 330 yard 3 wood onto a concrete hard down hill fairway with a tail wind and a 275 yard 4 iron onto another downhill fairway and a the same tail wind.
About a one club wind but the fairways are so hard it's like hitting it up the road, when I hot the 3 wood on the 14 the ball bounced about 10 feet back up into the air!

I hit 3 wood and 7 iron into a 510 yard par 5 today and just missed the putt for eagle.

Do I get a prize? :smirk:

I once drove through the back of a 370+ green, it was baking hard and dropped probably easily 50 feet in height, the hole was the 8th at Durness golf club so its not impossible for yardage, however under normal conditions on a flat course it's very unlikely in fact I go as dark to say that I'd be surprised if its ever been done.

OP, I think you'll need to give some info on where this feat was achieved to help validate your claim
