Today I had my 16yr old Jack Russell put to sleep as he had cancer.
I can't believe how much this is crushing me.

Slime.

P.S. I don't want any sympathy, I just felt I had to talk about it..........as much as I can.

4 weeks ago, had my beloved greyhound lose his battle with bone cancer. He had a leg off early May last year and we were told 6-9 months at best. 14 months he made and was fantastic. Missing him so much and the house is so empty.

Grief is a terrible thing, but the unconditional love our dogs give us make it all worth while.

Chin up fella and remember the good times. I`m sure they were many.

I'll give you sympathy whether you want it or not. It hurts like 'ell when your dog dies. I'm on my 5th Border Collie, and the loss of the first 4 still hurts.

Big man hugs buddy.

Full of sympathy, people without pets can't get their heads round it but they leave a massive hole. Can't imagine being without my hound.

Mate,I really feel for you! My first Cat was 15 when she died in my arms, one of the saddest days of my life.I am sure the good memories will cheer you up in time, are you going to get a new pal?

Slime you are in for a tough time, we have two springer spaniels and also foster dogs for English Springer Spaniel Welfare, the dogs being as much a part of the family as my wife and daughter. Remember the good times, and the pain, will slowly with time reduce, but enjoy your memories, and think of your friend at Rainbow Bridge.

I'm with you all the way, cyber-support by the barrow load.

It's hard, every time. Hang in there.

Know how you feel mate. When I lost my first dog. It took me 20 years to get another, just could not do it. But have 5 of the things now. So chin up. Not going to say things get better. Not really sure if they do!

So sorry to hear that. Can still blub over the loss of our lab Bonnie which was 10 years ago. Also worry now Max is getting older...

It's heartbreaking and yes it crushes you but sounds like he had a great life full of love - lucky boy.

Its never good loosing your furry family members. It will take ages to get over your loss. Just take it day by day fella, i really do feel for you. Run free wee Jack Russell. R.I.P x
