After the forced week off from snow and spending far too much cash on ebay.... finally managed to get out for a round...new scotty in the bag and decked out in new clobber, playing on my own, just out for the enjoyment. Confident on the first tee, then hit a low slice which is the opposite of my standard high draw, 2nd shot low slice again.... fuming play out of the trees onto the dance floor and wind up with a six... 2nd hole much the same but catch up with an old boy in front who asks me to join, play the next couple slicing my way round but scrambling to hole out. However if it wasn't for the banter that ensured from my partner who i believe immigrated from mexico in the early 70's and plays off 28ish, my irons would be in two pieces followed by my bag entering the closest water hazard at high speed.
After hacking my way through 15 holes I just gave up and teed up on the 16th ready for a trek into the woods..... then flushed it 300+ down the middle, followed by a crisp iron 1ft from the flag...
birdie, birdie par for the last three followed by a couple of jars in the 19th with my new mexican pal twice my age....
God I love this game......
