Today I scored my 1st eagle,
It was at my home club, 252yd par 4,
I hit a reasonable drive (slightly left of the fairway) then a sweet 9 iron from about 90yds which bounced on the bunker mound in front of the green and then rolled straight into the hole.

The rest of the game (before & after that hole) was poor at best, not a good start as I lost my footing on the way to the 1st tee (gravel path) and with the weight of my bag and momentum I fell and scraped all the skin of my knee :(

Needless to say I am chuffed to bits with my eagle.

Ah the rare bird, well done. I remember my first one, bragged for months. Drove the par 4 and stuck the putt in, oh the joy. :D

Well done! Even in the midst of a mediocre round the golf God will look after you and let you leave with at least one memorable shot :)

Still basking in the glory of my first (and boring anyone who can't escape lol)

you did hear about it didn't you? :D :D

Fantastic stuff Barb, well done, I am sure it wont be your last. I get almost that same feeling every time I get one (few and far between these days :D ) it never fails to thrill me. I can remember all the eagles Ive got over 30yrs (with a bit of deep searching or prompt from a course I may visit again) I can remember the near albatross on two of them, likewise the one albatross I got, so you will have your memory for a very long time that you can only add to.
Well done. ;)

Thanks Guys,

I think I have just about told everyone I know, oh, no wait, gotta go and make a quick phone call, back in abit!!! ;)

It is a great feeling even though the rest of the round was awful but hey here's to the next one!

Whereditgo, I'm not sure I heard about yours :D ;)

Well done Barb
The 1st is always the best.
Not bragging - well alright I am - but I can't remember my first as I've had so many  :D

Nice one, remember my first like it was yesterday (was about 25-26 years ago) good luck in collecting more, I have around 20 or so to my name, still awaiting the even bigger bird although I have been very close on a couple of occasions.

Nice one Barb! It certainly is a great feeling.

I have always thought that, whilst there is a kudos attached to getting a hole in one, eagles are harder to come by and as a result I have always enjoyed eagles a little more than the two aces I have been lucky enough the have. The simple reason I suppose is that an eagle generally requires one or two great strikes followed by a huge pressure putt.

My most memorable was at the 18th at Monte Rei (Portugal) a couple of years ago. It's a 462 metre par 5 with bunkers left and a big carry over water to the green. We were wind assisted and having nutted my drive I was left with a 9 iron and a snaking 30 footer across a really slick green. It was the last hole of our tour and left me really good memories.

Made a dog's dinner of it this year, though....... :D

Well done Barb!

Trying to think if I have had one -so I guess the answer is no! I'm sure the satisfaction is as great as an ace - takes more than one good shot - less likely to be luck. Hope you are still basking in the warm glow.
