Going to the shop as a treat tomorrow, looking at a new putter that is different to the fontana kia ma i use at the moment.

Any must trys and any really different putters out there i should have a knock with?

I plan to try as many as i can, and really thats the key with putters i guess. I like the wolverine at the moment tbh, tried a few times and its a nice stick

I don't believe that any of the main stream manufacturers make a "bad" putter.

My advice would be to get a proper fitting so you get a flat stick taylord to you.

Tried out a few sticks, and it looks like the Nike Method 1i was the best bet. No purchase as i want to try it again, and try a few more. Also need to shift the Kia Ma fontana, Any idea oh what i should try and sell it for?

I wouldn't be too hasty in shifting the TM, just incase you struggle with the new one.

As per my previos post. I would get fitted and remove any doubt as to whether the putter is right for you or not.

Try loads, don't rush in and I'd go to a pro shop with an outside green where you can try anything out on real grass first!

I agree, its all about the real grass for a test run. I also think a lot can be told when you first pick the putter up, some just feel great, and others are a big no no.

Looking at more of a simple putter rather than the mallet style.

Unless you already are a good putter I wouldn't discount a mallet. Best by miles for alignment and masking a "poor" stroke due to greater MOI.

I meant to ask a while back Murph when I noticed it in your sig', how's the N/C play?

Very nicely. Bought on spec, at great cost, and luckily I love it. Very forgiving roll, so easy to judge pace, and I am holing some nice ones from 6 foot odd. Feels a bit odd moving back from face balanced to heal / toe, but I like it. Nice weight too.

I looked at a few Odessey No9s, which are close in looks, but they are not quite as well made, and for me, sit a touch closed. No idea why, as the lie and loft are the same as my N/C. Cleveland also do a version (N/C are Cleveland owned), but that just feels a poor cousin to the N/C.

Worth the money. To me anyway.
