Or maybe Drop if not 'closely cut' and using the specimen LRs - as that certainly looks!
As for the question....Ball tends to move in the direction of the mud. With that amount a lot of it is likely to come off when struck, so a bit unpredictable as to where the residue will be (apart from on the clubface!!

I repeat, we have pick, clean & place through the green, period, we have no qualifiers over this winter as we had 5 new greens being laid, whilst there may be some fun comps usually over the winter, the weather has closed our course along with additional holes to those 5 being updated, it was agreed by the committee that even though the fairways were OK, the rough and semi rough were saturated and to jeep members playing and to keep the course moving and not having the rough hacked up, the introduction of pick, clean and place through the green would be enforced until further notice, OK
