Looking for a new driver.... been hitting my old mans big bertha warhead thingymajig but the head on it is tiny and its not the most forgiving...... Ive read that the cleveland classic is meant to be pretty forgiving but anyone else recommend any others through experience?

Found that part amusing - remember pre-1996ish driver heads were far smaller than the big bertha!

G15 OR G20 both much better looking than the K15. Very forgiving, in fact any Ping other than the i15 has been very forgiving.

K15 or the TM R7 Superquad (although it's a little dated and might even have to check it's compliant!). The 08 and 09 Burners heads were also very forgiving and can be picked up very cheap.

I know this may seem an odd choice but the most forgiving driver I have ever used is the Titliest D2 910.
I have tried a hell of a lot including the Ping G15 & the old Burner & the 910 eclipses the lot of them.
Was not impressed the the G15 although I know a lot of people including thoose posting above swear by them.

My old Nike Dymo 2 with it's square head was by far the most forgiving driver I have owned or hit.I really wish I still had it!

The Callaway RAZR Black. Fantastic driver, ball goes where you want it nearly every time.

I wont be changing mine for a good few years unless it breaks!

If your looking for forgiveness, then any of the above would work. I'd also consider a shorter driver shaft as this is known to aid accuracy.

I agree with the Ping G20, make contact just about anywhere on the face and it seems to go OK although the standard shaft is pretty awful. Loads of custom fit options though.

im 90% sure i wana go all out for forgiveness..... with that little tiny "big" bertha i was driving the same distance as a 4 and 5 handicapper (one with cleveland classic the other with rbz) so hopefully i can take off 10-15 yards for more fairways.... seem sensible?

Unless you are getting lots of off-centre hits with the BB, then you are a pretty good ball-striker, so I'd strongly suggest you look at the 'aggressive with forgiveness' heads rather than all-out forgiveness.

So R11/9 rather than RBZ/Burner; I15/20 rather than G/K15/20 etc. That said, I found the G15 a really good balance of power and forgiveness - I had the upgrade shaft (Serrano) which is the equivalent of the TFC Tour D(lower torque) one.

As a current owner of a FT IQ and a past owner of the Dymo 2,I remember the Dymo being more forgiving, but RGDave is right, square = forgiveness!

my list of clubs to test are cleveland classic, g20 and i15..... would american golf be able to let me try different shafts aswell ?

Another shout for the ft-iq I'm actually keeping an eye out for a cheap imix head to go with my razr hawk which is also very forgiving.

Also as said a shorter shaft helps, I've got the 44.5 inch shaft from my ft-9 in my hawk rather than the 46inch Alidia one one as it keeps me alot straighter.

Hi. Since the COR limit is now set and head size cannot go higher than 460cc , anything really in that size will be forgiving, its just all down to your cost or price point.

i use a Nike SQ Sumo. about 5 years old, £50 second hand and it is far the most consistant ive hit.
