Another competition, more hope of a cut, more frustration.

Started off with a 3 putt after missing the green, then 3 off the tee due to a slice OOB, for a double triple start.

No GIR on the front 9, and dropped another 4 to be out in 45.

Only 3 GIR on the back 9 but played better to come back in 40, and just hang on to the buffer zone to avoid 0.1

I only holed 1 putt longer than 4' all round, 1/9 between 5 and 15 feet.

The highlight was hitting a 9 iron to 2' on one of the par 3 closest to the pin holes. Shame it was my third because my first went OOB

So frustrating when you know you can do better, but everybody says that don't they

Still, by the time I play in the next one on Tuesday I'll be confident of a cut again :D

Sorry to go on, I still don't feel better :D

Wouldn't worry, I've had 3 excellent rounds this week and yet yesterday and today I couldn't hit a barns arse with a cow's banjo! No shame in buffer zone.

I know the feeling. I've been struggling all week. Had a lesson on Monday and I'm having trouble incorporating it into my swing.

Thought things might be coming good today, Went out in 39, a new record for me. And that's with starting with a triple ! Two pars, then a bogey, than parred for the rest of the front 9. Happy days

Then came back in 50. tbh, it wasn't too bad. Manly bogey golf except for finishing Triple, Double, Double. :(

Comp in the morning, lets see if I can string another round together at the right time :D

I know your pain. I don't know whether I'm cheesed off (glass half empty) or pleased with the way I hit it (glass half full). 36 points in the stableford with a blob (no score) on the par 3 6th and four single point holes. Add in a three putt from ten feet at the last.

I struck the ball great but made too many silly errors. Out in +6 gross I'd had three double bogies in that. Hit the green at 17 and three putted from 30 feet and then creamed a drive and 5 wood at the last to set up a pitch.

Given my recent up and down form I'm definitely in a glass half full mood. I need to freshen up the chipping (again) but the ball striking and my driving in particular were good. A few poor pitches early on didn't help. Nicely in the buffer and probably a decent top 10 for a change.

I didn't mean to give the impression I thought I played badly.
I was actually happy with how I hit the ball, just 'leaked' too many shots.

Dropping almost half of my handicap in the first 2 holes doesn't help, and on another day I'll hole some putts.

Onwards and upwards :)
