Fully discussed at committee in 2018 when all the newly available LRs/course changes were due to come out and turned down unanimously.


Might have been better to set this up as a pole to make seeing the result easier
 
The club do not, however, when I ran some of my society competitions, we used it for pace of play reasons
 
Kinda, instead of using the rule, just marked the one area where it was considered as a lateral hazard (or penalty area, whatever, red stakes)

We had a visitor from the States play with us for several months in our roll up , we could not get him to remember that we did not have that rule here.
 
I’ve played a few mizuno singles events and they use this. I have seen a player drop the ball way closer to the green than where they should have. Another dropped a ball and thought he was playing his 3rd shot from there when it was his 4th
