Mind the things that you tell the kids...

Nipper is absolutely into his Legos and we have loads of legos lying around. I am trying to get him to move up to the higher versions e.g. Technic, City, Mindstorm etc. The little plastic pieces are not cheap either, so we have a reward system wherein if he achieves something he gets something...

Few months ago, on our drive back from hitting a few balls on the range, he asked
Nipper: When can I get a technic
Me: if u win a golf competition at the club..
N: what about Mindstorm (really expensive)
Me: you need to do something really really special for that..
N: What if I win the Ryder cup
Me: Yup, you can get a Mindstorm if you win the Ryder cup...
Got home and never thought about it again..

Yesterday, we were at ToyRUs, and HID saw a box of Mindstorm parts in the Lego section. As she did not know what it was, she ask Jr..
HID: Whats this?
Jr: that's Mindstorm, Daddy said I can have it if I win the Ryder cup.....

(Akward silence)....
