I vaguely remember visiting this god forsaken place once before. Can anyone recommend a good pub for food, and is it worth going shopping whilst in the area. I'm down that way next month for a club fitting, and the wife has agreed to drive me down after my night shift, so in return I'm going to have to treat her nice for a change.

MadAdey & Fundy are your men.

I just don't like the look of the place, its not very welcoming to drive to or around IMO.

I always go clothes shopping in MK and pop into costco aswell.

The centre has loads of bars and food places and the main shopping centre has every outlet you can think of!

Fortunately my GF knows it like the back of her hand so I wouldnt know how to get around unassisted lol

I had the misfortune to work there for 6 months. I've vowed never to return. There's a bog standard shopping centre and no decent pubs. And the sandwich shop stopped taking Scottish money after I'd been there three months grrrrr!

If the country had piles....

Hi Mate

The shopping is OK, the centre is pretty much your typical big shopping centre. The other option is a new retail park has just opened up by MK Stadium (http://www.completelyretail.co.uk/portfolio/CrownEstates/scheme/Stadium-MK-Milton-Keynes/index) my wife says shed go to the centre as first choice still.

As for food MK is a bit limited in that 99% of the food outlets are the big chains. So If you want any main chain food it exists, if you want what Id call a proper pub lunch then your best options are outside the city centre; Ye Olde Swan on Woughton on the Green, Black Horse on Great Linford, Swan Inn Milton Keynes Village are probably the best but all can be a little pricey, the Old Beams on Shenley Brook End probably as good as any in terms of value

Let us know if you need any more info (or directions)

Enjoy the fitting!!!!
