I was a Member at West Derby for 15 years, used to be in really good condition in Summer, but very wet in Winter, haven't played there for about 10 years, but have heard condition has deteriorated year on year. It has a very good social side but I wouldn't pay £1K per year
Of the other courses in the area who charge around the same price, my pick would be either Huyton & Prescot or Lee Park, both have a few forummers as Members, nice courses, very good greens
Childwall- nice course, not a nice club
Grange Park- expensive for what you get
Woolton- far too short
If you struggle to play a lot, Eccleston Park have a credit system Membership for £295, not the greatest, not as nice as other 6 mentioned, but I've been a member there for last 2 years, very friendly club and got me back into playing regularly again, plus several forummers are members
