Played on Saturday and played well, hit the ball nicely, sank some puts and generally felt ok. Played to 12 off of 14 hcp.

Played a pitch and putt yesterday with my father in law..... 7 holes are par 3s between 90 and 130 yards. One long par 3 of 170 and a par 4 250ish distance. Went round in 30 shots.....pretty good right? wrong.

I only hit 1 green from the tee. Yep, 1 single green from 100 yard distance.

I chipped and putted really well, hence the score......but then it got me thinking, am I that bad normally at hitting greens? And you know what....I think I might just be.

So for the summer I'm going to try and get to the pitch and putt one evening every week and see if I can improve. Maybe I'm onto something.

In my experience albeit very rarely greens on a pitch and putt course are really small and if you
were chipping and putting well maybe you was not far off the green.
All bodes well when you have more green to hit.

Was the pitch and putt Poult Wood? It meets the description and is in the right area. If so, it is actually very well looked after and nicely laid out for a council run facility so good fun to play. 30 is still a good score on a par 28 I would say. A lot of good up and downs if you didn't hit any greens! As you say, you must have chipped and putted very well.

Yep, Poult Wood. I hadn't been there in years and years.....as you say, very well kept.
