Bit of advice needed, 2 of my mates are looking at going away in May but not sure where to go. Open to pretty much anywhere but would prefer somewhere near to some kind of nightlife/bars/restaurants. Can't remember the place they went last year but they played Las Ramblas and said it was fairly quiet around the hotel and would prefer a bit more on an evening.

Heard good things and value for money for Turkey and Bulgaria, plus Spain and Portugal.

Any help appreciated.

I appreciate this isn't this isn't a great help, but a lad at work looked at all the places you've mentioned in your thread, and ended up settling with Portugal....

Check La finca. Around 40 mins from alicante airport. I've golfed there around 6 times. Plenty of night life around 30 mins away. Torravieja iirc, your golf travel are doing a great deal. 3 nights 3 rounds for £185 I think. 5* hotel.

We go every october

Villamoura. Plenty bars and restaurants and good golf all withing a reasonable distance to each other

While Turkey is good there's very little to do at night except sit and drink in the hotel bars.

Visited Turkey for the first time about 3 years ago.
Fantastic golf courses (preferred them to the Algarve) and we stayed all inclusive at the Voyage hotel in Belek.
I would go back in a heartbeat (if I could afford it!).

Great, they mentioned Villamoura the other day, will pass all this info on.

Cheers everyone.

Thanks CMAC, have you used them before?

Golf amigos are helpful, but not the most urgent in getting back when quotes are requested. Where they are helpful is that they will check and provide prices for flights where others don't. In my experience other well known operators have been always been cheaper.

Be careful with Golfbreaks as I've had issues where they'll promise you things to get the sale finalised and then I've had issues at the accommodation. Examples are free spa access and transfers to the courses as well inaccurate information on how far courses and amenities are from the accommodation.

I stayed in Carvoeiro last June, hired a villa through owners direct and just booked my own flights.

if there's only three of you, an apartment would do.

i used this guy https://www.facebook.com/pages/Carvoeiro-golf-shop/138990799536919 for all of my golf, played the pestana courses Pinta, Gramacho and Silves. He was really helpful and gave us some cracking deals too. These courses are definitely work a look, cost us 95 euros per two ball with buggy included. Carvoeiro was lively enough too, plenty bars/restaurants.

I use http://www.golfkings.co.uk in glasgow for my golf holidays, they will quote you for a total holiday, flights golf transfers, the lot. They can do it all through email or phone.

Thats who we used last year in May when we went to Vilamoura, class place to go and plenty nightlife and other bars:whistle::whistle: we stayed in the Vila Gale Marina which was spot on and all our transfers were included

That's where I stayed aswell, and golf kings have some very very good golfers booking your holidays, they aren't just sales people, they are great golfers who have been there and stayed and played.

Looking to go away in March/April time as well but trying to do it on a budget.

Anyone have any idea roughly per person how much it would be, say to spain/portugal (anywhere cheap really), for just a 3 day break?

I went to Villamoura in September for a golf Holiday, personally i find all the golf travel companies a con, spend some time doing the research yourself and you will save a fortune. try looking on a website like this - http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/

We booked a private villa 5mins walk from the marina - 4bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, private pool etc. it was fantastic, it worked out at £90 per person for the week!!!

I've stayed in the hotels in villamoura too and they are great, but it depends what you want. i have no interest in eating the same breakfast every morning etc.

with regards to the courses, they are all good. I would make sure you played Quinta Da Lago, we played the south as the north wasnt quite reopen, it was fantastic. they also offered a free shuttle from the accomodation

Also loved the old course, and Victoria (if you like tournament style courses).

If trying to do a budget, you can get on Millenium, Laguna and Pinhal really cheap - best bet is to take advantage of the twilight deals they have as the prices drop to half price.
