Matchplay tie

Had to play a match yesterday before today's deadline - both of us away for the last 4 weeks combined..... Was absolutely chucking it down when we started... Sun out and down to Tshirts by 7, lovely round, and won it on 18 despite never being up in the match...... :-)

Probably because with a match, either player has an equal chance to ply the course first, but not necessarily so in a medal with start times spread across part of the day.

Isn't it just that practice isn't allowed on the course pre-medal but nothing to stop you practicing pre-matchplay match?

Yes, that is the rule, but the previous poster was asking what the logic for that rule was and I think it one of equity - it is equitable, at least in terms of opportunity, in matchplay but not necessarily so in medal.

Ah yes of course - that makes sense.
