Masters- What would you shoot?

Would depend on how good my driving was on the day more than anything as it has to be so long so often and so accurate to have the chance of anything, then there are the greens, fast greens with plenty of movement I relish but they are very tough, but I recon if my game was on form I could manage maybe as good as 88, but it would have to be on form. I learned my game on a tight woodland course with undulating fairways and greens so that doesnt hold any fear, its more the distances and the tricky greens at agusta. First time I played St andrews I shot 85 in high winds (h/c 8)which was comparable to some tour pro's in the major Ist round following that year. I think if you dont try to do more than you are capable of you can have a good round at agusta, take the long par 5s there where tour pros hit it in two, I would be happy to get up to it in 3 then chip on and hopefully 2 putt walking off with bogey, even a lay up at one or two of the par 3s might be wise. Its not an impossible course for the ordinary golfer, it all depends on how you play it and how much it rules you rather than you ruling your game. If I couldnt break 120 on it :DI would give up golf. :D

Apparently Botham shot a 93 playing with Woosie on Sunday (off 8). I would imagine that was off the back sticks. Sounds like a good round to me!

I would suspect Botham may have been a little nervous playing with Woosie let alone the course as well as being in public eye.

Well im playing very steady at the moment, off of a 23 HC, so with good conditions and some good course management, i think i would be able to break 100

And then just see what happens on the next 12 holes

I think tee to green most of us could make a good fist of things. Its going to be the putting where we would rack up a score! Those greens are FAST and have very dangerous subtle breaks in them. if you don't get the ball in the right place then it's curtains.

I played over Lundin Links a few years back just after they had held Open Qualifying over the course. Tee to green was fine, it was the greens that did for me that day! way too many three or even four putts.

Well the way im playing at the moment id just be happy to be there and smell the azaleas as i retrieve my ball on every hole.

Ive hardly been playing but boy its poor.

I didnt even bother playing in the comp today as I saw it as a complete waste of time which would be better spent with the family.

Had a great day at the seaside in the sunshine so turned out to be a very wise decision!
