Why pick an exception to the rule to try to prove a point? This demographic will account for a very small percentage of golfers.Show me absolute proof that custom fitting is of benefit to the "improving" golfer ?
How in gods name do you custom fit an inconsistent swing thats arguably going to change/improve over a period of weeks/months/years,or should you be custom fitted every other week ?
Your point is essentially correct, but any custom fitter worth his salt - if the fittee tells him honestly he's a new player/taking lessons - will tell said fittee that the fit is for his game as it is now, and not how good a player he may end up.

But then again that's no different from a new player buying a starter set, would you advocate a new player buying a set of MP69s because he may improve enough to play with them eventually?
