Manchester Putting Lab

Its a cracking set up Louise.

Just dont do what I did, where I only left 5 minutes to pick an actual putter.

Spend 30 odd minutes on the technical bits, but leave enough time to pick as about 80 odd to pick from.

Yes it is the one at MGC, I have been thinking about going and after I lost a match there today by one hole, after missing from 4 feet and then 3 feet on the last couple of holes, I went a booked a session.

Cheers Pete, I will bear that in mind.

Sorry for cutting in, but would be interested in this myself. Wondering how it works.
How long is the process, what is the cost, and are the putters well priced or would you be better getting to know which one you want then shopping around

cheers.

dave after watching you putt I wouldn't bother. you have a lovely stroke that id buy off you if I could. that wee putter seems to work well for you.

you just need to practice lag putting and distance control! save you sheckels!

It was an interesting experience, after analysing my putting stroke, he said there was nothing wrong with the putter I was using, so no attempt to sell me something new. My problem seems to be lack of control of the putter, this was what I have thought myself. tried some thicker grips which seemed to help then he suggested I use my normal wood and iron grip on my putter, he also suggested a moe upright stance. These seemed to feel a lot better so its off to the practice green to see how it goes.

Dave it cost £49 for a hour's session.

Its strange that you should mention about you using a normal iron / wood grip, since I have started using a grip that is close to my irons grip I have had less of a push on my putts.

I think that it is because when I tried to use a palms together grip I had trouble bringing the toe of my blade putter back to square at impact causing a push. I also had a thicker grip put on the putter handle and it now feels a lot more controllable .

The putting lab sounds interesting though.
