I’m generally a player who can let the club head get ahead of the hands at set up, it’s a bad habit as a kid and something I’ve always struggled with. A chap at the club has just got a lab putter fitted with a forward press grip and the science behind it has me curious.

Has anyone used one on a non lab putter?

Isn't the point of them that the LAB putter has a forward leaning shaft that meets the head an inch or 2 behind the putter face?
The LAB putters that don't have forward lean just have a normal grip.
Wouldn't it also mess with a normal putter's loft?

And, thinking about it, wouldn't a forward press grip on a normal putter actually exaggerate your issue rather than countering it?

In theory the grip would be in the same position as it is currently which to my eye must be default, however by the angle the shaft enters the grip it should give a lost lofted delivery if my understanding is correct.

Sorry - yes, you're right and I'm wrong.
It's taken me half an hour and 2 sketches to get my head around it. 🤣
