Man Utd can still win The Premiership

United didn't win the Premiership last season, everybody else gave it away, and Ferguson, shrewd cookie that he is, saw the opportunity to get out as a champion & grabbed the present with both hands. Perfect way to protect his legacy by handing over his winners to someone else, almost knowing that they were going to fail.

What an odd way of looking at a title win.I suppose everything that is won is given to the winners though to some extent.I know Chelsea's CL win certainly was.

Not really. I know and speak to a lot of fans from other clubs. Over the years there have been seasons where one team has been head and shoulders above anyone else, and those fans of other clubs have conceded, albeit grudgingly, that the team that one it was obviously the best one, and that the football they played clearly deserved it. Various Man Utd teams have done it, two of Chelsea's were, we received the same help in 2010 that Utd did last year, and the Arsenal Invicibles certainly won theirs by being unbeaten. And that wasn't the case last season as far as I and a number of the other fans I spoke to were concerned. There were other teams that if they had played to their potential should have taken that title, but the team on top of the league was Manchester United with a team that, by their standards in previous years, was distinctly average in a number of people's opinions.

Yes, we certainly benefitted from Bayern's wastefulness in front of goal. We also earned it to a large degree by dint of a keeper that went the right way for all six penalties.

Its not Moyes fault , his is a team that is old , they had scholes and gigs in midfield , come on , Fergie knew that so got out , RVP won them the league with his goals , lots of matches were won by his goals , This year Arsenal will go close if not win it , its safe to say that the team that finishes above them if any will win the league , The current Everton manager is doing well , I think before long he will get a big club to manage .......................watch the match today and Everton played well , Arsenal of years gone by would have lost this game and in the end it took a good goal to get Everton a share of the points , Man U will not get 4th place and as for RVP wanting out , my heart bleeds for him , should have stayed where he was , the fans loved him , now he is hated ...............EYG

So Moyes thinks Scum can still win the premiership from 9th but Jose is saying Chavski are in trouble from 3rd.
Is DM talking about UTD or Everton? As they have more chance of winning it than UTD do with the way they are playing.

Don't you have school to go to tomorrow? You should pay more attention in class, maybe then you could argue your point with a hint of eloquence rather than a hint of kindergarten.
You're showing your mental age and NOTHING else.

I don't believe that for a minute.

I think most sensible Man Utd supporters will realise that following Fergie is going to be one hell of a task....for anybody. Moyes needs time to stamp his mark on the club and to get them playing his way. Probably 2-3 years rebuilding and buying his type of players. Whether the club and the supporters will be patient enough remains to be seen.

I like Martinez buts lets be honest that is largely Moyes team that he inherited so DM cant be all that bad. Got to be given time.

Im getting a slight hint you are a Manc fan ?

Not necessarily, just someone who prefers a reasoned debate I'd say.

I have a bet that my crystal Palace warriors will finish above Man U, it's nit looking so silly now........ Well maybe it is!

Does that reasoned debate include making disparaging comments towards Liverpool and Liverpool Fans ;)

No I am not a Manc fan.
I am a football fan. The most important team for me is England and I cannot understand other passionate English football fans not caring about their national team. The club team I follow comes a distant second to England.

If not understanding how Liverpool fans couldn't give a stuff about their national team is disparaging, then I'll hold my hands up to that.
Can't remember making dfisparaging remarks about Liverpool as a football club though. I'll admit to wanting them to fail, that's just a rivalry thing, but I distinctly remember stating that I don't hate them, I mean, that would just be plain silly.

Which club is it ?

It's getting harder to be passionate about any football these.

Never been passionate about England - never had the connection I have with my club

I went week in week out to the ground surrounded by fellow fans and felt the passion and it grew in me. It was nothing getting picked up by my uncle to go to the game - he went in for a pre match drink whilst I stood outside with other kids kicking a ball ( or a crushed can ) with all the other kids. Then 30 mins before walking to the ground with thousand others and then standing all swaying and singing and moving as one as your team thrilled you to the bone. Then wailing home each sat trying to recreate the latest Kenny or Rush goal with your friends.

You couldn't do that with England - you couldn't get the connection , we couldn't get tickets , it was all down south. We sometimes watched it on a B/W telly to see football but no connection to the team because it wasn't our team.

That's how I and my friends grew into football and became part of Liverpool Football Club and we always be there. No team will ever match that passion or connection

Reasoned debate....Football?

Even South of the Border, those are mutually exclusive terms!
