Low Handicappers- How long have you been playing?

Started playing golf when I was 18, my first handicap was 22. I am now 26 years old and playing off 7, I have been a single figure handicapper for a couple of years now.

Lost interest in the game towards the end of summer last year, didn't pick up a club from September 2012 to March 2013. Joined a new club and I am now in love with the game again. Played in 2 medals this year, started off 8 and shot 2 under my handicap and was cut to 7. Tee to Green is where I have improved a lot in the last couple of months, shame my putting is letting me down but that will change with some more practice!

I started playing when I was 15 & got down to 7 in a year and a half. I stayed there for quite a few years & I gave the game up for a year as I got really frustrated with my lack of progress and just wasn't enjoying it anymore. I took it back up about 7 years ago and got down to 5 within a year or so. I've been as low as 4 which isn't too bad round my course as there's only 1 par 5.

Got down to single figures relatively quicky (aged 16) but it began creeping up and then I jacked it in for a decade. Never got it back again although it is getting close again and I WILL be single figures in 2013

I started playing in 2001,although i only played very occasionally.Joined a club and began playing regularly in May 2002,and my first handicap was 19,16 months later i was playing off 6,and several weeks later 5.I've been as low as 4,but maybe because i've never practiced or had lessons i'd gone as far as i could.
