Losing weight/fitness thread

So back from 'The Hague' a good weekend, but need another break to get over it :P
ParkRun was going to be an easy effort, turned into a negative splits run in 27:01.

Then onto the Half on Sunday, I was also doing an tempo run for (Runna) at the beginning of the race. 1 mile easy into 3 mile tempo at 8 minute miles. Hit all 3 miles then eased off the pace. Then just ran on feel for what was left got to 10 miles and felt good. Saw my time and thought If I could hold on a big PB was on the cards.
Struggled the last mile, saw the start and assumed that was the finish as well so put on the final push. To find out once I got there I still had another 400 metres or so too go and had to hold on for dear life :P
Crossed the line in 1:47:53, got the medal engraved and brought the t-shirt after that :P

Well done 👏🏻👏🏻

5 mile in glorious sunshine today, just a single running top and running shorts.😱 just under 43 mins at 8:33 pace, so pleased with that.

Update on the Lady trying different foods for energy on her long runs:

1st run was Cream Eggs, she gave them a big thumbs up.
2nd run was Greggs Sausage Roll, no good, gave her heartburn and pastry stuck in her throat.😂😂
3rd run was Cadbury’s Mini Eggs, loved them, but needed a gel as well.
4th run was M&S Colin the Caterpillar individual cakes, best so far, loads of energy😂😂

She’s daft, all these are on runs varying from 21Km to 30Km as part of her Marathon training.

God knows what’s next.🤷‍♂️

Gym this morning doing upper body power, really enjoying the variety and the shoulder is starting to behave again so I'm able to lift properly but just limiting the number of sets to not overload it. Really staring to notice the changes its bringing compared to my normal strength and conditioning training. Definitely feels like the kind of training that can be done long term and hopefully the weather is nice tomorrow so I can get a decent length run in.

How the hell do you run carrying a box of cakes for crying out loud? Next she'll have a dozen-box of Krispy Kremes under her arm. 😂

It was a 6 pack of individually wrapped mini cakes, similar to cadbury’s mini rolls! Not a box of full size cakes😂😂

She had a running vest on and had them spread out around the vest.

I never ran far enough to think about bringing cakes and sweets with me. Longest I ever did was a 10k.

To be fair to her she is covering some mileage! And thinking about it, the Greggs sausage roll that was in a greggs paper bag stuffed into a pocket in the vest was bigger than the cakes.😂😂

I'd never go for one of them on a run. I imagine I'd accidentally breath some of the flaky pastry into my lungs and start choking.

3.8 miles in 31 minutes last night on the treadmill.
Absolutely hated every second of it, mentally tough just staring at a wall 😂😂
Treadmills are the absolute worst. So monotonous, and no breeze to coool you down.

They were a necessity for me a few years ago, when I was trying to run intervals around my measured VO2 Max pace, because I can't accurately pace that in a normal run. But I think they were my most hated training sessions, even more so than a run outside on a cold, rainy day, which are also horrible obviously.

7 miles at lunchtime in the glorious sunshine. Following on from Paul's different nutritional ideas, I decided to swallow a fly at 3 miles and nearly choked on it, wouldn't recommend.
How did you get it to stay with you for 3 miles?😬
