Can anyone reccomend a decent three wood?

I used a demo one from the pro shop yesterday, it was a 2008 cobra with a red underneath.... not sure of the model though. Was hitting it pretty well gaining about 30-40yds on my old 5 wood.

Looking for more distance off the tee and still not confident to take the big dog out especially on the tighter courses.

I have been through a few but am now settled with my Adams Insight XTD. It is designed as a cross between a 3 wood and a hybrid and I find that I can hit it off both the tee and the fairway.

There are a plethora of good fairway woods ont he market and it is the old adage of trying as many as you can. My tip would be to wait a few months if you can as most companies will be bringing out new ranges around Christmas and the Spring and so you will be able to pick up 08 models at knockdown prices.

For what it is worth I really get on with my Cleveland, but have also hit the Callaway big bertha 3 wood well and the Ping 10 3 wood is a good solid weapon

Ping G10 I can vouch for- an absolutely superb club.

I am using the Adams XTD A3 though (square club) as I was unable to hit a bad shot with it during testing (I actually tried to hit a snap hook and high slice but to no avail everything went straight), although it has not been the same on the course. It is a terrific club though, gives a lovely strong, penetrating flight out of the middle. My one regret is letting a mate having a go as I now have a nice chip out of the crown!

minty have you been over to DG at Hemingford Abbotts? They are always willing to tape up a few. I tell them flat out that I won't be buying first crack but will expect to try again at another time with others and it seems to make no difference.
