looking back over 2011 (a couple of questions)

Best moment was winning a major club comp in July. Got my name on the board and 1st ever golf trophy
Worst was losing in QF of an Essex Golf Comp.

Best moment was sinking the putt that gave me a gross 66 and announced the tumbling of the handicap.

Worst - golfwise - the way I played at Hanbury Manor in the GM qualifier and how I played PM at Blackmoor
Easily my 2 worst rounds of the year.

My best memory of the year, was my first ever pairs comp with my dad.
We came 3rd and picked up some vouchers.
Hes just a great dad,simples.

Low point was not winning at St Pierre in the Gm comp.
It was in my grasp and i blew it.
The worst thing about it,is we all now have to look at Homers ugly mug in this months mag.

Highlights- winning the season eneding foursomes comp and another great trip to Ireland.

Lows- missing out on playing Royal Aberdeen due to a back injury and the rising of my handicap again, hopefully the lessons i'm taking will halt that tho

Highs - The forum meets are brilliant. It probably helps that I've played well on most of them, but it's meeting all the other forummers that makes them great.
Finally getting down to single figures.

Lows - Nothing golf-wise (personally) but losing my job was a bummer at the time.

Shooting my best ever score (73 - 2 over gross) at Withington GC and achieving my lowest ever handicap of 12.6.

I didnt really have any worst moments, golf's golf, and whether I play good or bad, it beats the heck out of being at work.

A good year golf-wise. My handicap came down from 10.4 to 7.4, I won an honours board comp (pairs) and a monthly medal and monthly stableford.
I'm currently 10th on the Sunday Swindle OOM which I'm pleased with.
A few forum meets thrown in - the downside being that I get to meet you lot... ;)

Negatives - none really - maybe slight disappointment at the comps that were within my grasp and I allowed my mind to talk me out of winning them! :p

Best; breaking 80 for the first time, the forum meets and new courses and especially the Forest of Arden final.

Worst; nothing really stands out, not being able to play twice a week maybe?

High Point: Flying to Carton House for the Footjoy Day and meeting Paddy
Most Satisfying: The consistency of my golf
The Low Point: Having to retire from Day 2 of the club championship cause of my dodgy knee when I was in with a sniff of a good finish

HIghlights :
- getting to 9.4
- winning the "Mini" meet at Bearwood Lakes the day before Blackmoor
- winning the GM PING freebie
- on penultimate hole of team Texas scramble, instead of taking the drive that was 100yds out on fairway, being forced to take the drive that was in the woods and behind an embankment, and hitting a Sergio-like 5 iron super-draw to 6"; we won by less than 1 shot.

Downside - losing our (yes we own it!) Winter 4 Ball final, against 5 chip-ins, after my partner had had a heart attack the day before (he thought it had been a panic attack); poor bugger then went and had a proper one that evening . Downsides all round.

Highlights
Meeting alot of great people at the forum meets and playing some decent courses.
Winning a club com and qualifying for our Masters event (only open to major winners and monthly stableford/medal winners)
Qualifying for the GM final at St Pierre having gone there just to try no to make a fool of myself
Winning the final (well handicap section) and finishing runner up overall (and getting my boyish good looks into the mag)

Lows
Handicap going up 2 shots over the year
Short game still an issue
Seve dying
Losing our Volvo tie to a 40 foot birdie putt on the 19th

Best = Summer golf in Belek followed by afternoons in the pool with my daughter, then drinks in the shade with HID.

Saddest = Seve. I have never before cried for anyone who was not friend or family. A boyhood hero

Highlights were winning a couple of times in second class at our place, getting handicap down to 17 from the dizzy heights of 18 !!.

The main one was meeting old and new friends at the Forum meet at Millport and managing to win it as well :-))

Low points not getting my handicap down further, Seve's passing to the great golf course above.

Overall, with other things that I have heard about this year, just having good health and family around me its been a good year.

Highlight

Watching my 6 year old get his first par

Breaking 18 HCP for first time (and staying there)

Lows

Seve and one of my golf / rugby friends dying suddenly

Being knocked out of all 4 club competitions in first round, 1 by 8 and 7

Best moment this year was getting my my BP of 44 points in a round of 87 which was also the first time I broke 90.

Worst part of the season for me is even though I am playing a little more consistant my handicap as not come down.
