Long term golf club upkeep

Each to their own and good on ya!

Some spend hours on cleaning cars or stamp collecting or music collections etc.

No right or wrong way, they're your clubs and your choice as to how you look after them or not.
 
I do clean my clubs once in a while when they need it, but as my clubs normally stay in the car boot between games they don't get a lot of attention. However on Monday I played at Carnoustie when it was minus 4 degrees and yesterday at Blairgowrie it was plus 12 and when I took my clubs out they were covered in condensation, the grips were wet, the bag damp and my wedges had surface rust on them, so today they're in the garage drying out.
