Loft/Lie Checks

Getting mine checked for the first time this year having been fitted 7 years ago...maybe I should have done it more often

beginning of the season is the best time.

If you've done a lot of mat hitting at ranges over winter you'll find your lofts and lies way out on a forged club especially.

club material, design, the amount of use, type of use (range use, type of mat, way you swing etc) will all have an impact on the likely need for remedial action - not easy to relate to a fixed time period.

you would expect the average handicap golfer who uses range mats to de-loft their most commonly used clubs (6-7-8 for most people) whilst more lofted clubs are more likely have their lie angles 'fine tuned' through constant thumping of the sole into a mat! Clearly if such tuning is consistent over a range of lofted clubs it wouldn't be correct to automatically reset to the original spec without checking the players actual requirements!

Well if they de-loft I may well leave them, then I'd be better prepared for the new lofts when I finally change them! :D

Actually was on the to do list, even mentioned it to the pro - probably a bit late now.
