This may have been covered before but I'm hoping for some advice with regards to the fitting service at Direct Golf.

Four years ago when I purchased my irons I paid £30 for the lifetime service of the lofts and lies being checked and altered at any point as long as I was still the owner of the irons.

Although I haven't had them checked for a while, today I went into my local DG to have the lofts and lies checked. I was told that this service had now finished and I could have the lofts and lies checked but they could not be altered. I assume this service 'finished' when DG exchanged owners and had their problems.

Has anybody else experienced this? I'm hoping to make a complaint and see if I can get my £30 back (even as a voucher) as I wasn't aware that this service had finished.

Yeah, I paid out for a service I've not really got the use out of. If I end up with a £30 voucher to reimburse the cost then I'll be happy.

Well fair play if they give you a voucher instead, but after 4 years I wouldn't be too worried about 30 quid.

So long as he has proof of purchase that they are from them I quite rightly would expect them to honour a lifetime loft & lie service arrangement.

He paid for a lifetime service so think it's right that should be honoured

Yes I still have proof of purchase. Thanks for the backing guys! Nice to see others agree.

Not after 4 years.

Fair enough. It's more the fact I've paid out for the service and only used it the once. Also DG have still got signs up out on the range advertising such services!

I am with you - its the principle. Lifetime means lifetime not 4 years. Unless there is small print to say it ceases after change of ownership I would go for it.

The small print is the part I'm unsure of but don't think there is no harm in trying. I'd imagine Sports Direct's customer service is going to pretty shocking, so wish me luck!

Didn't DG go into administration? If so the new owners are not liable for deals made prior to them taking over. They may help out but it is down to their discretion. Chance your arm, if you get something see it as a bonus. Different people, these guys didn't take your money.
