A lot of doom and gloom on the other Coronavirus threads so how about some good during the lockdown.
These are things I’m enjoying about lockdown.

Real coffee every morning for breakfast, normally with a nice breakfast, it’s a mad rush in this house in the mornings normally.
Spending time with the kids and enjoying our daily exercise together.
Eating really well and doing loads of cooking / baking, really enjoy cooking and loads of new stuff on the menu.
Weather has been excellent, have spent loads of time in the garden.
Nice to have a glass of wine in the sun.
Wearing shorts everyday ?

What are you enjoying about lockdown......

The garden looks fantastic.

The hot tub is starting to earn its rent.

Walks/bike rides in the country with the family.

A beer on the patio with my lad.

Working from home.

Watching stuff on TV I’ve been meaning to watch for years.

But most of all? Putting everything I thought was bad in life back into very sharp perspective.

Getting loads of jobs around the house done

Cycling around the countryside to keep fit

Working from home but as and when it suits me

Eating well

A bit of an unexpected bonus here. The weather for most of the last 7.5 weeks has been shocking by normal standards out here. Stuck inside far too much. But this last few weeks the land, and the mountains a few miles away, are so green. This last week there's great patches of yellow flower, looks like whin from a distance, showing through. Normally the land would be starting to look quite brown and arid.

We're also seeing the odd ibex, as things are so quiet, and hearing wild boar quite often.

Saving 3 hours a day not commuting. My journey from the bedroom to the dining room table in the morning takes about 10 seconds.

Getting fitter

Quiet roads when I go for a bike ride

My chipping improving thanks to lots of practice in the back garden

I'm enjoying all the new stuff on YouTube, especially the music vlogs. Gives me something to watch in peace while my wife works through her compilation of George Clarke, Phil and Kirsty, and those two fatties from the Chateau.

On our dog walks we have discovered some really interesting parts of our town and houses that we never knew existed. The shutdown has pushed us into different walks as we are not driving to parks, beach etc.

I've done a number of small, niggly jobs that I've put off for months and years. They really did not take long and I must make sure not to leave them in future.

I'm struggling beyond that. I'm not enjoying it or seeing the benefits, sorry. I am pleased that others are though.

My garden looks fantastic, with the time to actually enjoy weeding.
Doing a task a day and getting the niggly little jobs out of the way.
My wife joining me every second day for a walk, now we have solved the hills problem.
Her walk is two miles downhill, my walk is one mile uphill and one mile downhill.

Nice post BrianM, two positives for me

1) My credit card bill for the last 2 months have been really low, as almost not spending anything

However the one massive positive has been

2) On a Sunday night I host a lockdown party game night via Facetime, now upto 13 people taking part. We have a magic trick to start with by one family(last week someone was sawn in half;):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:), then a game afterwards for about 30-45 minutes and have had great laughs with 7 card Bragg, Wacky Race Night(pigs, chickens, tortoises, ducks, geese etc) , Bingo, Quiz night(one round was about viruses, it wasn't popular:LOL:), Word games & Birthday quiz, What am I. All on facetime at one time means, its a bit mad, but worth it.

Getting my credit card statement yesterday.

I had to go into my bank account and drastically reduce the standing order else I could have been in credit for a few months.

I’m listening to all the recommendations on the EDM thread everyday, quite uplifting, takes seconds on YouTube to find them, then away you go!!

Had a zoom chat with all my mates last Saturday night for a couple of hours, good crack whilst enjoying a dram.
Have got a family quiz tomorrow night as well using zoom ???

  • No 5-45 am alarm on a Tuesday for the drive to Southampton
  • Not talking 45 mins to do the final 2 miles from the top of The Avenue
  • Not having to spend 2 nights away in a hotel in Southampton every week as well as the associated savings
  • Working from home all week!
  • No fighting the traffic to get home on a Thursday night
  • Still working and earning
  • Spending all week with my wife and mutt!
  • Virtually no money spent on diesel
  • Walking the dog as a lunch break (shame the pub isn't open!)
  • Spending the week in the village- (I've pretty much worked away for varying amounts for the past 10 years)
  • I've even got a tidy bedside drawer and a tidy garage !

There's a list of bad stuff, but good to focus on positives!
