What happens to people’s shots that are in play? Did they leave ball markers down overnight? Or do they replay the hole???

Most Tour events are very good at informing spectators of incoming bad weather.
If it's for lightening they get the players off sharpish and put out announcements advising spectators to seek shelter.
It's also put up on the big screens so it would be hard to miss.
The trouble is a lot of people are spectacularly unaware that "shelter" doesn't include trees.

I noticed they took players off in a rush but left all the fans milling around on the course. Most didn't look like they knew what what happening.

Then they must be blind and deaf. Are you suggesting the Course operators should have done something more for the poor unsuspecting spectators?
Like there's hundreds of poor spectators bemused!!
Sheesh!
