lie angle question

On the course here with some green and yellow dot ping irons.

The shape of my divots is much better. No more triangular shaped ones. Much cleaner strike.

I had standard lies before the mizuno fitting, came back 2° upright. Had 2 pb's since.

Not sure thats because of lie angle, better suited shafts, more forgiving clubs or just playing better?

However im totally convinced custom fitting works.

I don't think it works, I think it HELPS.

Not sure if 3° would be that noticable for most amateur golfers, it might 'accidentally' make them worse OR better.

There is no standard unfortunately, unless you know 2 sets of irons have the same lie angles.

Example.

The last 3 iron sets I've looked at lie angles of, because I was interested in possibly getting some.

Mizuno MP-69
0.5° difference from 3-PW

Titleist AP2
1° from 3-5, then 0.5° from 6-9 and PW same as 9

Ping S55
0.75° from 3-9 then 0.25° to PW

Don't know if this is a myth or not, but I was once told that different shafts will have a different amount of toe droop at impact, so even if you get fitted perfectly once you can't then assume that is you sorted for life.
