So sad to see Lemmy from Motorhead and Hawkwind has passed away tonight.

Just one of rock's true characters who will be sadly missed.

Enjoy the Great Gig in the Sky big fella and thanks for the boyhood memories!

Think a trip to the attic is in order, got so much vinyl up there but nothing to play it on, YouTube it is then...

No, no no, sad times, mind you it was a bit of a miracle that he got that far.

Saw Motörhead twice, once when I was about 17 at Wycombe Town Hall. There were 9 in the audience but still played a full set, and also at the Hammersmith Odeon in about 1983 when the stage came down from the ceiling with the band playing.

RIP Mr Kilmister :(

My first ever gig was Hawkwind at the Glasgow Apollo. Heard on the radio this morning that he was only diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer on Boxing Day.

They don't seem to make R&R legends like they used to any more :(

it's a miracle he lasted as long as he did!

RIP Lemmy.

He was told by a Doctor, according to an interview in the mid 90's, to continue his lifestyle of drink, drugs, sex and Rock'n'Roll as long as possible as his body had become so accustomed to the abuse it would fail if he changed....

Born to Lose - Lived to Win.

Amidst all the sadness of losing two greats to the Christmas curse of dropping off the twig in threes. Perhaps a lighter moment to contemplate

LEMmy - Meadowlark LEMon.

Bet this guy's feeling a bit nervy until Friday morning.

My first ever gig was Hawkwind at Guildford.
I was so blown away that I went to see them the following night ......................... awesome stuff.
He was a true one-off and will be sadly missed.

RIP Lemmy.
