Morning all, I've got a session booked on the flightscope Saturday morning with a club fitter.(titleist 910)
Question is will adverse weather affect the result or does it take its measurements from the first few feet of the the balls flight and calculate the rest??

weather forecast is 20+mph winds on Saturday and it's s/w so blowing straight into the bay.

Should I re-book or not worry about it.

I've read that Flightscope use a radar based system, and track the ball all the way until it lands, but I couldn't be 100% as it is just what I have read from an article.

I'm sure that the fitter will be able to adjust any readings to suit. The influence you place on the ball is the most improtant part and this occurs at impact and can be read for the first foot or so to give you a good idea as to what is going on - where the ball ends due to wind is irrelevant.

I think I noticed on one of the Flightscope screens today during my fitting that the carry and roll are calculated on the first 100 yards of ball flight.

I guess it's relative anyway if you are hitting range balls in cold and/or windy weather it will have a very similar effect on your own clubs so will have a yardstick to compare against?

I'm guessing the wind may have some impact on the numbers but speak to the guy and see what he thinks. He's the expert but no point doing it in my book if the data will be skewed
