Something on telly just jogged a memory from around 40 years back. I was BM in a Building Society. I had a customer appointment scheduled. When I was told the customer had arrived I went out to greet him and invited him into my office
(ah, the old days). He was followed by a very elderly lady who took a seat alongside him. I assumed it was his mum.
The meeting concluded we shook hands and I opened the door for him. The lady stayed sat. The customer looked at me and twirled his forefinger around his temple as he left.
I turned to the lady and said "Are you not with that gentleman?"
She said "No. I heard him saying why he wanted to see you and I thought it sounded interesting so I came in as well".
Then I fully understood his "Loopy" gesture
I managed to contact him shortly after. He said he'd never seen her before in his life.
I asked why he didn't raise the matter at
