Couple of years ago, on the track between woking and Brookwood, network rail chopped down some trees.. because leaves on tracks were causing delays during Autumn

This year, they had to close the line due to landslips caused by erosion

Can’t make this up

not a laugh as such

I lived in Woking until 1986 and regularly travelled the trains in that region.

The next time was many years later, Yeovil to London, and was a bit taken back by how little could be seen of the surrounding areas due to tree growth in comparison to my years of living there.
