Our clubs Men's Open today, it's the last qualifier of the year, my exact handicap is 11.5, so I need one shot under handicap to get me to 11, I won’t build up the tension, I played like an ar5e.

My putting was the worst I've ever known it, I don't usually count putts from off the green when I'm reviewing a round but to show how shocking things were I will here.

Holes 2 to 8, all three putts.
Five of the last 6 holes, three putts.
So to save you the maths that's 12 three putts, 6 of them were on the green!
38 putts on the green and 46 (forty six) in all.

(In case anybody is still wondering, I didn't make it to 11 handicap, 97 for nett 85, 13 over handicap.)

This is the problem with the handicapping system not CONGU....why stop qualifiers during the winter? If you have to play off 'forward tees' then there is a SSS so you can play to this SSS - if it's too tough, the scores will reflect that and it will become a non-qualifer anyway...

Too many people trying to protect their handicaps in my view.....

I agree that handicaps should adjust in Winter inline with SSS. Not sure about people wanting to protect their handicap though It's just the way some clubs operate including mine.

Hard luck crow but get some practice in over winter and it'll be a doddle in the spring! I also needed to drop .1 but managed to buffer so i'm going to consolidate for the winter.
