I'm looking to buy just a hybrid head, but not having much luck, I stumbled on a ladies club at much cheapness.
My question is this, is a ladies taylormade SLDR hybrid head the same specs as the mens? Is it only the shaft that differs, or is it a different size and weight.

According to the taylormade site, the specs for SLDR S Rescue and ladies SLDR S Rescue are identical, but the SLDR Rescue has a different spec.

Right I think I know what your getting at lol, not interested in the SLDR S just the SLDR, I found the specs and weights for the SLDR but not an individual one for the SLDR ladies, which leads me to believe it's just the one head but the ladies version is fitted with a lightweight 45g shaft whereas the mens is a 78g shaft (In regular).
In short I can get the club and reshaft it with my own as the head is identical.

The heads on ladies clubs probably weigh the same, but the shafts are slightly shorter and lighter, reducing the swing weight from D something to C something.

yeah I'm reshafting it with a KBS hybrid shaft anyway, missed out on it but got one lined up. Making them shorter as well as the SLDR hybrids have stupid long shafts, that way the gapping will work better.

Are long shafts such a bad thing? I once had a TM Burner 09 with a longish shaft and a heavy D6 swing weight. It was almost impossible not to make a long smooth swing with that club, and it hit the ball a long way. Unfortunately my clubs got nicked from my car, and I have never since found anything quite as good (although my Fly Z comes close).

My old 09' Tour Burner still lives in my dads garage I think

I spend quite a while looking for one on eBay, but they very rarely came up, and I was always outbid at the last moment when they did. Guess that says a lot for that club! I had to get another driver to play with, so bought a pre-owned Ping G20, but couldn't quite get on with it. :(

P.S. Relating to the 'Equipment Price Drop' thread, I bought the 09 Burner at a considerably discounted price as an end of line product. However by the time my clubs were nicked a year later, none of the retailers had one left.

The '09 (Tour) Burner is still a cracking driver.

I gave it a swat while I was waiting for my Callaway V series to be delivered and it still went like a rocket.

Makes you wonder why Taylor Made keep coming up with new models? I tried the next model (was it the Speed Burner?) and it was rubbish in comparison!

Long shafts are the devils work when you have little legs (and distance gaps to fill!)

One of our members is a rather small Indian guy. He has a Cobra Long Tom driver with a 48" shaft and hits it miles down the middle with a slight draw every time. Unfortunately the rest of his golf is rubbish and his handicap is still 28! :mmm:
