I thought Kirsty is doing a good job, short space of time to get a few words as the Pro's make their way to the 9th green, and has been said her Da and cousin will mean she knows a fair bit about golf.

She did refer to Player as Mr Palmer, but it was after Arnie gave her the you look good comment as the little twinkle of the eye. It threw her of her stride and she went to ask Player about the magic of returning but got all tongue tied thanks to Arnie and his smooth chat. She recovered well though.

Kirsty covered the Masters last year as well, and did an excellent job. I do think its a bit of a slap in the face for Ms Stirk who is professional and knowledgeable and likable enough on the tv, but imo not as good as Di Dougherty was and never will be.

With regards to Kirsty, she is on a different level to Ms Stirk in every department, and to be honest regardless of who her father is she has proven over the years how good she is, though i was slightly surprised she ended up on SSN, though not disappointed !

She didn't. As Arnie was walking to join them she said something like "I want to bring Mr Palmer in as well" That's how I saw it anyway

She did, mid interview once she talked to all 3 she turned to GP and called him Mr Palmer. Typical gent, GP caried on regardless, or didn't hear her due to old age

I enjoyed watch the 3 legends but Arnie seemed a little miffed when the girl asked him for his glove when sitting out at the ninth green

Why do sky send her out to cover the Masters when as far as I can tell, she doesn't know a lot about the game.

Why not send Sarah Stirk who covers the European tour for sky all year?

IMO this is a mans tournament, why not have a male link, leaving women to cover the women's tournaments.

Thought it was funny when she addressed Gary Player as Mr Palmer.......

A Scottish dad - she's clearly been brought up properly to know it's not the done thing to be overly familiar with grown-ups (even if you know them well) I, though 50+, still address my mum's next door neighbour as Mrs Young - I just can't call her Beryl - but then I've known her since I was 8 so she is Mrs Young.

I see, must have missed that, she was a bit flustered after Arnie's comment so can forgive her for that

Well shes gotta be better than Michael Vaughn and Monty! Also she is allegedly one of Tigers conquests a few years back.. ( not a loota people know that!! ) so I can imagine gets access to the players changing rooms a lot. :p Personally apart from being mildly tepid, I cant stand the woman shes overly cheesy, dull and her boobs have sagged a lot over the years....:smirk:

Bring back Di she was awesome

Absolute tosh mate.

No reason why a woman cannot be the link for a male golf tournament. The BBC uses 3 women on their coverage (Hazel, Maureen and Laura) and it is pretty damn good (except when they sent Michael Vaughan to the Masters last year?).

Kirsty knows her stuff and will do an excellent job.
